97 Cent Shipping - Receive by Christmas!! (Today Only)

Here's the latest news from Walmart.com:

We are going to finish up the online holiday season in style with 97 cent shipping on top items in multiple categories! The last minute shopper will be able to find that special gift and save with 97 cent shipping and have it delivered just in time to go under the tree (December 24th Delivery). Additionally, 97 cent shipping will be available only on 12/18 for ALL items in the following categories: GPS, Digital Cameras, and MP3 Players!

Usually I try to stick with sales that are more than 50% off, but if you've been putting off your shopping and need to get something to your home before Christmas, this is a good offer. Walmart usually has competitive prices, so you probably won't find the same pricing elsewhere, especially on short notice. If you're not sure what to get, look over some of the top 10 selling items in each section to see what other shoppers are choosing this season.

The camera pictured above is a Canon 7.1 MP PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera. It comes bundled with an all-in-one photo printer (Canon PIXMA MP470) and a bonus pack of 70 sheets of 4x6 photo paper to get you started. This would be great for someone who doesn't have a digital camera yet and would like to start with something easy to use. The bundled printer is convenient for making prints right at home and even before your guests leave your Christmas party!

HP Computer Sale - 30% to 45% off

Just in time for Christmas, HP is offering several great deals. Click through to HP's store and read the specs on some of these computers. One of these deals is sure to match what you need. It's a great time for an upgrade.

Ending Dec 8 2007:

Ending Dec 15 2007:

Computers are bigger ticket items than I usually post, but I decided to share these discounts after considering that people often shop for computers and electronics as Christmas gifts. I have purchased HP computers several times and have been happy with them. The lower cost notebooks don't feel quite as rugged as some of the higher priced competition, but you'd have a tough time beating these specs for the same price.

Belkin FM Transmitter $7.99 (was $49.99)

In what they are calling a Black Friday III promotion, buy.com is offering a Belkin F8V367 TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter for only $7.99. They show the list price as $49.99. I have a transmitter that looks similar, but is a no-name brand rather than a Belkin. Even my cheap knockoff of the Belkin Tunecast cost more than $20. My copycat version may get replaced today. :)

Get one of these before they're gone. With the sale today, the sales rank has jumped from #1169 yesterday to #1 today. That's an increase of 116,800%!

What Does It Do?

Just in case these are new to you, let me briefly explain what they do. You would plug the transmitter into your MP3 player's headphone jack. Then (on the transmitter) you choose an FM station to broadcast to and tune in that station on your radio. Voila! The music from your little MP3 player comes out of the radio's speakers. This is great in the car.

1GB SD Memory Card - $10, free shipping

Need some extra memory for your digital camera? This 1 GB SD card from Kingston is only $10 and shipping is free. If you haven't used Google checkout, you can take advantage of that offer and the card will come to your home for $0.00. This is one of the top selling items (#3) at buy.com right now, so hurry, before they sell out.

With 109 user reviews on the site and a rating of 4.5/5, this card is a safe bet. I have a couple of these for my camera and have never had a problem with them.

Samsung Laser Printer $59.99 (reg $120)

The Samsung ML2510 Monochrome Laser Printer regularly sells for $119.99, but through December 10th, you can get it for $59.99 after instant savings and rebates. Other sites such as CompUSA, CDW and PC Mall are selling this same model for $120-$138 without a rebate offer available.

This printer can turn out up to 25 pages per minute. It's a monochrome (greyscale, not color) printer, but if you don't need to print photos, this is a nice choice. At my house, we have both a monochrome laser printer and a color inkjet printer. Since the laser is a lot faster and has a lower cost per page, it gets used the most.

Tea Time - 40% off and free shipping

Do you like tea? If you have a favorite Twinings brand tea, now is the time to stock up. I like Earl Grey, so that's what I linked to, but once you get to the site, you can try other types of tea too. It looks like most Twining brand 6-packs are included in this sale. To sweeten up the deal a little more, it's eligible for free shipping.

Add two of the 6-packs to your cart. Be sure to click the FREE super-saver shipping when shown available shipping methods. Then make sure to enter the coupon code TEATEA40 during the checkout process. You enter it AFTER you've already chosen free shipping. The discount gets taken on the same page where you enter your credit card. Make sure the discount is applied before you finish payment details and move on to the next page.

Here's the breakdown for my order:
Two 6-packs: $31.32
Discount applied during checkout: $12.53
Final Cost: $18.79

This is for 12 boxes of tea with 20 tea bags in each box. So I can get 240 tea bags for $18.79 total. That's $1.57 a box (less than the grocery store) or a little less than 8 cents per tea bag!

Enjoy your tea & try to keep warm!

Family Fun Magazine - $4.95

Are you looking for a magazine with great ideas for the kids? If so, Family Fun may be just what you want. Right now you can get a year subscription for only $4.95 after a $5 instant rebate which gets automatically added to your cart during the checkout process. The cover price for a year of these magazines is $29.90 and even if you were to subscribe from the publisher's site, their special low cost would still be $10. That makes this deal half-price or better. :)

If you're not familiar with the magazine, here's a description from its publisher:

What does family fun mean to you? Crafts? Recipes? Party ideas? Travel tips? FamilyFun magazine dishes up these and more boredom-defying activities in over 180 splashy, colorful pages. Geared toward parents with young children, this energetic magazine promises to enrich the lives of families. Offering a "we've been there, we know" sort of comfort to parents, folksy first-person articles let parents know they're not alone. A sense of community is expanded further in the "My Great Idea" section--culled from readers' letters--that suggests kid-tested ideas for everything from summer games to rainy-day projects. Homeschoolers will find plenty to ponder as well--a winter issue, for example, describes how a snowflake takes shape, then suggests a paper snowflake-making project. Reviews of digital games, books, videos, and DVDs, written by industry experts, help parents feel up to the minute. FamilyFun is positively inspirational to parents who want to shake up the routine and keep the magic in a family.

The publisher also has some videos on their site where you can watch some of their craft ideas. You can see them at http://familyfun.go.com/utilities/global/feature/fftv-archive-video-player/

Customized Holiday Greeting Cards - FREE

Order Now
These holiday cards normally cost $12.99, but are free right now. You pay only the shipping which costs $5.95 for standard mailing. The slowest shipping will get the cards to you by December 18th if you order today. That may not be soon enough for cards that you plan to mail, so those may need a shipping upgrade. I'm planning to hand out my cards at parties that are scheduled after the 18th, so all I'm paying is the $5.95.

You can customize the style and layout of the card, choose a greeting (or write your own), add your name and even add your own photos if you'd like. Adding a photo does cost $2.49, so the cards wouldn't be quite free if you choose that option. Still, it's not a bad price if you must have a picture of your pet iguana (ok, ok... or your child) on your Christmas card.

UPDATE: I was able to get 3 different sets of these for free. When I tried the 4th set, the cart tried to charge me for them. I made each set and saved it, then added them to the cart (from my saved items) during checkout. The shipping total for the entire order increased to $8.65. Not bad for 30 customized cards with plain envelopes.

Cat in the Hat - $3.19 after discount

Actor/Actress: Mike Myers , Alec Baldwin , Kelly Preston
Year: 2003
Runtime: 72
Rating: PG (MPAA)

This adaptation of the classic children's book stars Mike Meyers (AUSTIN POWERS) as the wily talking cat with a tall striped hat and more than a few tricks up his sleeve. Set in a colorful make-believe world, the film tells the classic tale of a sister and brother, Sally (Dakota Fanning) and Conrad (Spencer Breslin), who pass a rainy afternoon with their crotchety baby sitter Mrs. Kwan (Amy Hill), during which they receive a visit from the mysterious Cat in the Hat, who leads them on a series of colorful, illogical, silly misadventures.

K-Pax - $3.19 after discount

Actor/Actress: Kevin Spacey , Jeff Bridges , Alfre Woodard
Year: 2001
Runtime: 121
Rating: PG-13 (MPAA)

A mysterious man (Kevin Spacey) shows up in Grand Central Station claiming to be an alien, and is promptly taken to a mental institution. When he doesn't respond to medication, he begins seeing a psychiatrist (Jeff Bridges) who is fascinated by him. The man calls himself Prot (rhymes with "boat"), and tells the doctor about life on his home planet, K-PAX. When he learns of Prot's ability to see ultraviolet light, and his savant-like knowledge of astronomy, the psychiatrist, despite his skepticism, begins to believe.

Patch Adams - $3.19 after discount

Actor/Actress: Robin Williams , Monica Potter , Philip Seymour Hoffman
Year: 1998
Runtime: 116
Rating: PG-13 (MPAA)

Tom Shadyac's (ACE VENTURA) film tells the true story of Hunter "Patch" Adams (Robin Williams), an aspiring doctor in the 1970's who attempted to treat his patients with a medicine that modern science had totally disregarded: humor. After a stint in a mental hospital where he discovers his need to help others, a young Patch enters medical school. There he develops his own methods of reaching patients as an antidote to the the pomposity he witnesses in his instructors and fellow students. While his patients and fellow staff members appreciate his approach, the powers-that-be frown upon his "unschooled" methods and attempt to prevent him from practicing.

Motorola Bluetooth Headset - $19.99

Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset

These Motorola Bluetooth headsets are refurbished and are being sold at a great price. The list price on the site shows as $99.99. I've seen them being sold elsewhere for less than that, but not nearly as low as the current asking price of $20.

Here is some information about it, but you can find more by clicking the link above:

For users who demand superior performance and good value, the H500 offers the best of both because of longer talk times with a more stylish, compact and comfortable design all at a reasonable price. This headset is both discreet and stylish, yet highly functional. The overall compact size and lightweight of this headset allows for easy storage when not in use. Also, the lengthy talk and standby times include up to 8 hours of talk time or 150 hours of standby time from a single full charge (travel charger included).
